Ferreira Motorsports Update(5-6-12)

 

 

 

 

What a comeback! Racin' Jason Ferreira and team showed up ready to go, we unloaded top 3 speeds in the 2nd practice, fastest in the 3rd practice!  Our Heat race went extremely well considering circumstances.  We were working hard on the car and had no spare time, getting on track with 1/2 a lap to catch the field and go green! Starting last we worked our way to the front using all of the track and most of his tires, Jason Ferreira was holding on to the car with little room for error.  Finishing a respectable 3rd place (first top 3 of the year!) Ferreira Motorsports was very pleased!We Continued onto our feature race which was 25 green flag caution free laps starting 2nd and falling back a ways then pulling himself back into the 4th place position, and end up 4th place, but to do post race tech, Jason Ferreira was awarded 3rd place! our first podium finish!

Aside from the SK Lites division the team also qualified for the SK Modified division which is the big boys of the speedbowl. Starting last in the heat race, running with the pack and end up finishing 7th place in the qualifying race gave me a starting spot in the feature.  Starting 20th out of 20 cars to say we had our work cut out for us was an understatement.  In just 10 fast laps Jason worked his way into the top 15, after 20 laps he was in the 11th place position and moving forward,  by lap 23 we were in 10th place and still progressing.  Before lap 24 was put on the scoreboard the air cleaner on the racecar had fallen off causing a caution and preventing Jason from proceeding before pitting, after pitting, Jason and team realized the simplicity of the repair, without parts we were satisfied with the performance of the car, and didnt want to risk causing any damage to the car.

"All in all , I ran over 100 laps today on my tires which already have 2 prior weeks on them, I still brought home a top 3 in the heat and Feature race.  I am very pleased with the results of this weekends racing.  My family was brought together for such a great weekend and a great performance.  With out my family my racing would not be possible.  Mom is my spotter, Dad is my crew cheif, Brother does the tires, and my Girlfriend does my Media, if we can have more performances like this, there will be nothing that can stop us from victory!"  ~ Racin' Jason Ferreira~

 

Ferreira Motorsports Update(4-15-12)

Although our second race was not as good as the opening event. We did learn more about the track and find some new information about the car.  We did several adjustments throughout the course of the day, however we did not find any speed on the track, we wound up taking home a 7th place finish.   The car is in 1 piece still and is running, with some major adjustments we should be ready for next week.  Hopefully with a better result!

Ferreira Motorsports Update(2-24-12)

 Our First race was on 4-1-12 and we had a terrific performance, we ran in the top 3 most the race and finished 4th! Driver Jason Ferreira said "Although I over drove a corner and spun trying to pass for the lead, the fact that I was in the situation to overdrive for th am very excited to return on the 14th!" Crew Joyce Ferreira, Joe Ferreira, Aaron Silva, Arinn Enwright and Jason Ferreira were very surprised with such an incredible change from last year to this year. We were definitely fast but still have a lot of adjustments and changes to make.  Videos are all posted on youtube.com from the GoPro in-car shot and grandstands view in case you missed it. Ferreira Motorsports Update(2-24-12)

Ferreira Motorsports has sold their car and will now be running a SK Light Modified at Waterford Speedbowl, in Waterford, CT. Driver Jason Ferreira says " I am very excited to be making the transition to the open wheel cars, and I cannot wait to turn some laps at the 'speed bowl'." Waterford Speedbowl is a NASCAR sanctioned 3/8 mile paved oval track.
